The 28th March is celebrated in the Czech Republic as the National Day of Teachers. On the same day, Comeniusdag is celebrated in the Netherlands. Both festivities are related to the birthday of Jan Ámos Komenský, the so-called “teacher of the nations”. This year’s festivities are going to be special as the year 2020 marks the 350th anniversary of Comenius’ death and burial in Naarden. Many international guests will come to Naarden not only to commemorate Comenius’ legacy, but also to see the opening of a new exhibition Mundo Comenii (The World of Comenius). On this occasion, Comenius Prize will be awarded to Tomáš Halík.
