Welcome to our new member: Wijnkoperij Van den Hoogen

The Czech-Slovak Dutch Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) is proud to welcome Wijnkoperij Van den Hoogen as a new member.

With over 15 years of experience, Wijnkoperij Van den Hoogen is a Dutch wine importer specializing in quality French wines. The team regularly travels across France to visit small, independent winemakers—artisans with a passion for the craft of winemaking. Thanks to direct imports, the company is able to offer an excellent price-to-quality ratio, making top-tier wines accessible to Dutch wine lovers.

Their curated collection is available to private clients as well as to a growing number of fine restaurants and wine bars throughout the Netherlands. Many of their wines are exclusively available in the country, reflecting their unique approach and carefully built relationships with producers.

The business is co-owned by two passionate wine experts:

• Jacques van den Hoogen, Registered oenologist of the Dutch Wine Academy
• Jitske Zitman, Registered oenologist of the Dutch Wine Academy

Together, they share a deep appreciation for French wines, which remains at the heart of their work. But their curiosity doesn’t stop at the French border.

Exploring Moravian wine regions

Driven by their desire to discover hidden gems, the team explored the wine regions of Moravia—located in the southeast of the Czech Republic, near the Austrian border. This beautiful area is gaining international attention for its high-quality wines and dedicated small-scale producers.

During their journey, Wijnkoperij Van den Hoogen was impressed by the craftsmanship, purity, and unique character of Moravian wines. Among their current favourites are:

• Pialek & Jäger – a boutique winery known for its modern approach and expressive wines.
• Filip Mlýnek – a small producer whose wines reflect the essence of the Moravian terroir.

With a clear commitment to introducing new wine experiences to the Dutch market, Wijnkoperij Van den Hoogen continues to seek out exceptional Moravian wines for local enthusiasts and gourmet communities.

Sharing the story and wine with a wider audience

By joining the Czech-Slovak Dutch Chamber of Commerce, Wijnkoperij Van den Hoogen aims to promote Moravian wines more actively in the Netherlands and engage with the Czech and Slovak communities in the country. Their goal is to raise awareness of this still-undiscovered wine region and create opportunities for wine lovers to experience something truly different.
